CONSTRUCTED in 1872 (King’s Hall) and 1962 (Queen’s Hall)
Built as a private boarding school, the property was converted in 1999
as a resort hotel after undergoing over $2,100,000 in renovations.

Originally a private school, King's Hall served as home for more than 10,000 young girls between
its construction in 1872 until the school merged with Bishop's College School (BCS) in Lennoxville in 1972.
Its construction and overall design reflects the stateliness of 19th-century education and Victorian values
– the school's initial mission was to “supply a good and thorough education with sound religious training.”

The name King's Hall was given to the school to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII
(whose name now adorns our Museum Room). As you look through the buildings,
traces remain of its
scholastic splendor…the magnificently restored library, the Museum Room, the oldest heated indoor pool in
Canada. The former gymnasium where dances with boys from BCS were held, and the restored organ are all but a glimpse
into the historic past. Our second-floor conference and meeting rooms once served as classrooms, and the spacious banquet halls
and ballrooms as gymnasiums. The third-floor luxury suites have been renovated from their original state as girls' dormitories.
